He was in a terrible state - but many have been seen in this community for his works to him - but they were not perfect before God!
1Co 13:1 When I am with men and of angels tongues, and have not charity, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
If you talk with the tongues of angels, maybe then you get the name that you live. "
1Co 13:2 And if I could prophesy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
knowledge one can also "Steal" - but Jesus spoke with authority, and you get not only knowledge, but through life!
1Co 13:3 And if I give all I possess to the poor and my body to be burned, but have not love, I would gain nothing.
Most people see the gifts - and they confuse the gifts with the fruit. But it's not the gifts of the tree do well - a good tree is known by its fruits!
The brother in Sardis was probably a bounty and yet his works were not perfect before God. Yes, you can very much make up their own power, out of ambition - but built the love! God does not pay because of the gifts but because of loyalty.
The gifts are like the scaffolding for the construction of a house - if the house is finished, the scaffolding removed and are only the house remains.
Many will eventually come to Jesus and expect for their gifts and their wages, but he says "I do not know you." Yes, they continued to do their own will.

So there were also others in this county who were about to die. They had competed for the applause of the people, one would be better than the other. Yes, it is very much envy in the religious world. There are people who make as many charities just to be known and praised.

Think of the forerunners in the faith - then you think of great gifts of grace? No, we think of their works of love.
Rev 3:4 But you have a few names in Sardis which have not defiled their garments: and they shall walk with me in white, for they are worthy.
you indeed would have had opportunity to complain about the one and other. But they have used the opportunities to win. God sees you there in secret - as you "seek their own honor" this or "compete" encounter.
Rev 3:12 He who overcomes, I will make a pillar in the temple of my God and he shall go out no more: and I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the new Jerusalem, the city of my God which comes down out of heaven from my God and my new name.
Yes, the supports are fixed - they do not run away and start to sigh when there are problems.
Rev 19:8 And to her was granted, arrayed in fine linen, clean and white. (The fine linen is the righteousness of saints.)
Yes, it is this fine linen to preserve and not to defile with the earthly. Everything is like ashes to the earthly life of Contents God wants to give you through the gospel.

Here we see something new from the clothes.

Ja, dann wird es feines reines Leinen! Dann wirst du froh. Wir sollen ja eine Fülle von Gott bekommen. Deshalb konnte Paulus mitten im tiefsten Gefängnis Lobgesänge anstimmen. Dies kam durch lebendigen Glauben an Gott.
Col 3:23 Alles, was ihr tut, das tut von Herzen als dem HERRN und nicht den Menschen,
